Food is a necessity for all living things in this planet. We all have to have it one way or the other. But for some people food has become a nightmare. There is an eating disorder commonly referred to as Binge Eating.

“Binge eating disorder (BED) is the most common eating disorder in the United States affecting 3.5% of females and 2% of males and is prevalent in up to 30% of those seeking weight loss treatment.”

Why do you eat in private? Why do you eat food until your stomach feels like it will explode? and the most important question: How do you stop?
One thing to always remember is: in order for things to change, you must take different action steps. This will not be an easy task. I would like to share with you 3 steps that will help you in this process.
Step 1.- Get educated. You must seek to understand causes you to binge eat. It has been noted that Binge Eating is cause by an emotional outbreak, find out what your emotional eating triggers are.
Step 2.- Once you have an understanding of what your emotional eating triggers are, start writing them in a journal. You don’t have to write a letter, or anything like that. All you are trying to do here is capture your feelings, and emotions. Find out what is behind them.
Step 3.- Get active, Exercise. Exercise will help you relief stress, if you have been following step 1 and 2, you should have a better understanding of what stresses you out. This will make you more aware to the signals of stress that cause you to Binge eat, and thus allow you to be proactive about them and prevent them.
Human beings are social beings by nature. We need each other to stay sane. Look for others who are having a Binge Eating problem and are doing something to stop. This will help you push through when you feel like quitting.
